About CloudFab
Overview:
CloudFab connects people who need 3D printing services with those who sell these services.
We produce instant quotes from STL files and specs so that buyers can see costs quickly and sellers can handle all their quote traffic.
For Buyers:
Before getting started, check out the FAQ for tips on getting the best quote. After you know how it works, click the Get a Quote tab to place an order. Fill out the form, upload your 3D file (.STL only), and then click the "Create Job" button (it can take while to process for big files). Review your order on the following page and click the "Give me my quotes" button to get your quotes.
You'll see quotes auto-generated from every applicable supplier. If you wait further, companies that haven't enabled auto-quoting will also post manual quotes which are often competitive as well. Check out the "Quote Details" page for each of them and click the "Accept Quote" button to accept the quote that works best for you.
Once you accept the quote, all you have to do is give us your payment and shipping info to start the build. We'll hold your money in escrow until you receive the parts. If you find any problems with the parts, you have five business days to challenge the transaction where CloudFab works with both parties to make everything right. For Sellers:
To begin selling your services on CloudFab, you'll need to fill out Your Profile (including payment account information) and also have at least one machine on the system. When setting up your machine(s), you can enable auto-quoting to give buyers instant quotes based on your specific costs. This lets you concentrate on fulfilling the orders we give you - instead of making a lot of quotes.
After you're on the system, you'll start receiving requests for quote. If you have auto-quoting on, you can either sit back or edit the quotes. If you have it off, you just have to enter a price and turnaround time on the "Quote Details" page to submit your quote. If a buyer accepts your quote, you'll receive notice that we have their money in escrow and for you to start production of the part(s). After you produce and send the part(s), enter the tracking number in our system so that we have record the buyer actually received your parts. Once they do, we release their payment from our escrow to your account.
